Bottled. Mid to light crimson. Smells a little riper and sweeter than the Pommard Perrières. Lightly peppery, mouth-watering and elegant. Super-fine tannins. (JH)

The 2017 Pommard Les Chaponnières 1er Cru has a fragrant and floral bouquet, peony and rose petal aromas infusing the red cherry and raspberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied and quite spicy in the mouth, with supple tannin and a finely structured finish. There is a sense of confidence about this Pommard that feels reassuring. Excellent.
