Mid crimson. Spicy and rich in dark-red fruit, much more substance than most Bourgognes Rouges. Sample is not in great condition but you can see the depth and finesse here. Dry tannins take it to a long finish. (JH)

The 2014 Bourgogne le Chapitre has a complex bouquet with dark broody blackberry, raspberry and tobacco scents, almost like a Bordeaux mixed with a Burgundy. The palate is definitely Burgundy, very well structured with dark red berries, touches of dark chocolate and dried orange peel notes. Moderate depth on the finish but there is certainly good persistence. Very fine.
