Score 91/100 · Drink 2019-2034, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Oct 2019

The 2017 Quartz Chenin Blanc is more open and approachable on the nose, with a broad spectrum of citrus, underripe stone fruits and pineapple tones with a leesy approach. In the mouth, the wine is medium to full-boded, with a complex texture, subtle oak expressions, waxy citrus peel and white flowers, followed by lingering finish. This wine will age for years to come.

Dense and finely crafted. Cool and quite open. Lots to chew on… (JR)

The 2017 Quarts Chenin "Leliefontein," matured for 12 months in neutral oak, has a very attractive bouquet not dissimilar to the previous vintage in terms of fruit profile, but perhaps with just a touch more delineation. The lightly spiced, well-defined palate offers crisp acidity and orange peel and dried mango flavors. A crushed stone element defines a finish that feels very long and satisfying. Superb.
