Marked by honeycomb wood on the nose, though the palate has some good mineral precision and a genuine limestony elegance. Let’s hope that side wins the day... (AH)

The 2013 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Cras has a less flamboyant nose than the Chambolle-Charmes '13 at the moment: this is more serious. The palate is tensile, more mineral-driven than the Charmes, the texture a little more powdery but with lovely balance on the finish. Sedate and classy, this should drink well over the next decade. Excellent!
