Score 91/100 · James Suckling, Jan 2019

A dark and smoky, sooty wine that’s really black, but it’s got good harmony and could be drunk right now, thanks to the ripe blackberries and lively acidity. Drink or hold.

The 2016 Les Pelerins de Lafon-Rochet is pliant, soft and easygoing, all of which make this delicious second wine a terrific choice for drinking now and over the next few years, while the dark cherry and plum fruit remain vibrant.
