The 2015 Marsannay Les Echezeaux has a tightly wound, mulberry and dark berry nose, a little compact at the moment. The palate is sweet and chewy on the entry with blueberry and citrus fruit, not complex per se, but offering decent length and freshness.

(from a clay-rich vineyard): Bright ruby-red. Sexy reduction to the aromas of black raspberry and smoky minerality. Sweet, pliant wine with very good depth to its black raspberry and licorice flavors. But this rather massive Marsannay also boasts good vinosity and lift thanks to its nicely integrated acidity and sexy saline character. Soft tannins allow the fruit to linger and expand. Charlopin destemmed this fruit due to the cool combe influence.
