The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Village, a quarter of which comes from the Premier Cru Les Chatelot, has a tightly wound blackberry, briar and raspberry bouquet displaying fine mineralité . The palate is medium-bodied and quite linear, with grippy, slightly chalky tannin and a touch of spice toward the finish. There is good tension here, although I would like a tad more length.

None in 2016 due to frost. From Bas Doix, Véroilles and Chabiots young vines (20 years). Terres brunes (more clay) and terres blanches (more limestone). Barrel sample. Utterly seductive on the nose but a delicate scent not a heavy perfume of sweet red fruit. Notable freshness here and a lightness of touch on the palate. Weightless and subtle. Surprisingly long.
