Bright, moderately saturated red. Cool, vibrant scents of black cherry, cassis, menthol and licorice. Juicy, spicy and firm but still finer-grained and more pliant than the village Chambolle today. This is more accessible today but also has more stuffing to last. A very good village wine.

(these vines are 60 years old; vinified with 50% whole clusters): Bright, dark red-ruby. A subtle note of blackberry candy on the nose, lifted by flowers, spices and white pepper. Displays similar flavors on the juicy, intense palate, conveying a strong impression of energy. The deep clay soil here always yields a wine with a relatively low pH, notes Philippe Lécheneaut, who says that this wine needs to be made with a light hand (he works more by infusion here) so that it won't become overly tannic. He added that the use of some whole clusters brings more elegance, and raises the wine's pH. This superb village Vosne shows a subtle saline character on the long finish.
