Score 93-94/100 · Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017

The intensely yellow colored 2015 Riesling Terroir d'Alsace – sourced from younger vines in the granitic Grand Cru Brand and the gravely clay plots just under the Clos Jebsal – opens with a lovely reductive, flinty and speck-flavored bouquet that reminds me a bit of basalt flavors from the Wachenheim grands crus in Germany. On the palate, this wine is rich, intense, piquant and elegant, a great combination of mineral purity, finesse and elegance with perfectly ripe fruit aromas. The finish is enormously vital and vibrant. I really could drink the whole bottle because it is so digestible. Still unsulfured; Olivier says this wine would be sulfured only very, very gently, depending on the analysis and just to compensate the bottling effect. Tasted as a sample in early February, just five or six days before the bottling.
