Cask sample. Light purple-crimson. Very light but all in balance, the tannins nicely chalky on the finish. Slight but well proportioned. (JH)

The 2016 Maranges Le Croix Moines 1er Cru is an unusually polished wine for the appellation. Dark, pliant and inviting, the 2016 has so much to offer. The tannins - often such an issue in Maranges - are supple enough to allow the fruit to really shine. Black cherry, lavender, spice and menthol wrap around the succulent finish. In 2016, the Croix Moines is absolutely delicious. That's really all there is to it. - Antonio Galloni
