Supple, perfumed and vibrant – has a lovely fresh black cherry scent. Soft yet sandy tannic finish. QGV – delivers plentiful flavour and has better concentration than many. (RH)

I tasted the 2015 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Rouge from a two-year-old barrel, though the final blend will include 20% new oak. I like the coolness expressed by this wine: dark cherry and boysenberry fruit, a touch of hedgerow all with fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with zesty opening, a fine line of acidity, very good structure with good body and weight towards the satisfying saline finish. Top notch! Don't feel obliged to drink this upon release, because I am sure it will age several years.
