The 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Aux Echanges has a broody, much more introspective nose compared to its peers, tinned peach mingling with blueberry and raspberry coulis. The palate is sweet and quite grippy on the entry, structured with dark berry fruit laced with soy, but with excellent freshness and focus on the finish.

His mother used to play in this vineyard as a child. Not one of the most celebrated premiers crus of Chambolle. They pulled leaves too early which has resulted in more density than he sought. Mid crimson. Broad and relatively diffuse. A little sour on the end. (JR)
