The 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Champlots displays notes of nutmeg, sweet confit lemon, citrus zest and praline. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure with a fleshy attack that gives way to a more tensile, saline mid-palate and finish.

Bright pale yellow. Rather Chassagne-like aromas of pear, menthol, white flowers and white pepper. Fatter than the Hommage à Marguerite but without quite the cut of that wine. A bit more aggressive in spite of possessing good buffering material, with lemon and dusty stone flavors coming across as adamantly dry in the early going. This is from a 1994 planting, and Colin noted that he can really see the evolution of this fruit in recent years.
