The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanée 1er Cru has a bouquet similar to the en Cailleret insofar as it errs toward Puligny-like reserve, less generous than some other vineyards within the appellation but offering clarity and terroir expression. The well-balanced palate display a fine bead of acidity. One of Jadot’s more elegant Chassagne-Montrachets, with a detailed, saline finish that gets the saliva flowing. This has great potential.

The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée (Maison Louis Jadot) is one of the high points of the portfolio this year, offering up a lovely bouquet of white flowers, pear, almond paste and wheat toast. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with lively acids, a compelling sense of completeness and good length on the finish.
