The 2018 Dolcetto d'Alba is delicate, perfumed and very pretty, in other words classic Dolcetto, with lovely blue and purplish berry fruit, licorice and lavender notes. Lifted and precise, with lovely persistence, the 2018 is a winner. This is what Dolcetto used to be like, once upon a time.

Aged for nine months in large oak cask. I am defending Dolcetto, which is being snobbato (snubbed) without any reason. Youthful mid crimson. Enticing, savoury nose with a layer of blackberry fruit. Savoury, crunchy blackberry fruit on the palate. Lovely freshness. (WS)
