Single vineyard Albariño, fermented in old chestnut 800-litre cask. Smoky and spicy on the nose. Some smoky reduction. Terrific intensity and high acidity but all in balance even though it is mouth-wateringly crisp. Great tension in the heart of lovely fruit – herbal notes and ripest of citrus flavour. (JH)

The 2017 A Graña shows the style of the initial 2016, with perhaps more integrated acidity even though the analysis is very similar. The perception is of a very balanced wine, with very integrated acidity, and the wine feels very harmonious. This is a real discovery, a serious, mineral-driven Albariño that may remind you of a dry German Riesling. I have the feeling these wines are going to develop beautifully in bottle. 1,258 bottles and 13 magnums were filled in June 2018.
