Revisited from bottle, Carillon's 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village unwinds to reveal hints of pear, wheat toast, blanched almonds and white flowers. Medium-bodied, open-knit and giving, it's elegantly textural, with a delicate, moderately concentrated core of fruit and a saline finish.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Village has an intense, gravelly/flinty nose that comes across more like a cooler vintage like 2017. The palate is well balanced with an intense opening, weighty in the mouth with just a touch of creaminess coming through on the finish, which is more like a Chassagne. Very fine.

Cask sample. Beguiling nose which has both a herbal note and powerful ripe apple fruit. Textured and packed full of acidity, vibrant and lively and a long finish. (AC)
