The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières 1er Cru has a fragrant bouquet with yellow fruit, touches of orange pith, quite Chassagne-like in style. Well-defined. The palate is taut and crisp, lightly spiced on the entry, fresh with a twist of bitter lemon on the finish. Just lacks a bit of refinement at the moment. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières offers up notes of crisp orchard fruit, white peach, freshly baked bread and clear honey. Medium-bodied, satiny and delicate, it's open-knit, with bright acids and a mineral finish. Despite its deceptively giving, delicate profile, I suspect it will put on a bit of wait with a little more time in bottle.

The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrières 1er Cru has a very attractive bouquet with freshly sliced pears, wet limestone and flinty aromas gently unfolding from the glass. Classy. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, nicely focused with admirable concentration towards the saline finish. A sense of completeness here. Excellent.
