As a palate teaser before this lovely flight of Riservas from Produttori del Barbaresco, I am delighted to start off with the delicate and fine 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo. Showing a light ruby color, this wine takes baby steps with hints of wild rose, dried blueberry, crushed limestone and powdered licorice. It sports a fragile, fine texture. If you crave for a basic and absolutely satisfying taste of pure Nebbiolo, look no further.

Succulent red cherry, kirsch, mint, rose petal and spice notes all grace this super-expressive, mid-weight Langhe Nebbiolo from the Produttori del Barbaresco cooperative. The 2018 shows the open-knit style of a radiant year in its alluring, inviting personality and sheer appeal. It is especially fine this year. Then again, all the vineyards that go into this wine are Barbaresco-designated sites. The Nebbiolo was aged first in steel and then spent a few months in cask, which really brings out the fruit.
