Aromas of chamomile flowers and white peaches with a fresh palate that carries abundant flavors of sweet, ripe fruit. Glossy finish. Drink in the next five years.

Picked at 98° Oechsle and bottled with 8.2% alcohol and 81.2 grams per liter of residual sugar, the 2018 Kanzemer Hörecker Riesling Spätlese (Versteigerung) is a highly finessed yet lush and intense sweet wine with a long and complex finish that displays lots of salt and mineral tension. It’s terribly sweet but super precise and crystalline and is carried to a long and promising finish by acidity that is as sharp as a Japanese knife. This is very long and salty, indeed, but filigreed and floral on the aftertaste. Promising and very, very fine. Tasted in June 2019.
