Score 95/100 · Drink 2020-2027, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Aug 2020

Like the red, the white 2018 Táganan Blanco mixes grapes from different vineyards and altitudes ranging between 75 and 400 meters, from vines that are 50 to 150 years old planted on old basalt soils, mostly in the zone known as Chavarria. 2018 was a truly Atlantic vintage that they consider an exceptional year with textbook conditions to achieve homogeneous and optimal ripeness of the grapes. The vineyards are planted with a multitude of varieties—Listán Blanco, Marmajuelo, Gual, Forastera Gomera, Vijariego Blanco, Malvasía and Verdello. Most of the wine matured in well-seasoned 600-liter oak barrels, but some 25% of the volume aged in 228-liter barriques and the élevage lasted almost one year. It has volume and edge, pungent flavors and deep salinity. The varietal mix and the unique place give a set of aromas and flavors that are completely different, making it a unique wine. It's sharp and has volume, power and elegance. 5,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2019.
