Light yellow-gold. Musky scents of dried pear, peach skin and toasted nuts, plus a subtle honeyed quality. Rich and chewy in texture, offering pungent, herb- and floral-accented orchard fruit flavors and a smoky, nutty quality. I like this style of chenin blanc but suspect that many will find it lacking freshness. Slow-building minerality adds lift and cut to the lush, smoky finish. This should be served with richly sauced foods or pungent cheeses.
