The 2017 Scheurebe Trockenbeerenauslese No 8 Zwischen den Seen is intense, fresh and piquant on the concentrated and spicy, still closed nose that is reminiscent of anchovies, pink grapefruit and candied lemon zests at this stage. Fermented and matured in stainless steel for 18 months, this is a juicy, sweet and piquant "Scheu" with ripe peach aromas, complexity and a toasty touch. Fine tannins on the finish. This is a vinous, very fine and sustainable Scheurebe and the first that has those toasty Nouvelle Vague features. Bottled with 10% alcohol and 281.7 grams per liter of residual sugar. Tasted in March 2020.

Some gently flinty aromas and white pepper with candied green apples and light peaches. The palate has fresh and attractive, supple style with ripe mangoes and peaches, as well as orange marmalade to close. Quite pure. Drink or hold.
