Score 93/100 · Drink 2023-2043, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jul 2021

The 2015 Mercurey 1er Cru Les Champs Martin is brilliant, unfurling in the glass with aromas of crisp stone fruit, citrus oil, fresh bread and pear. Medium to full-bodied, layered and muscular, it's deep and concentrated, with lively acids and enlivening chalky grip. Beautifully balanced, it is aging very gracefully indeed. As Lorenzon observes, the 2015 is what the 2005 could have been.

Mid garnet. Slightly sweaty on the nose. Lots to chew on. Pretty embryonic at this stage. Masses of tannin. (JR)
