Score 94/100 · Drink 2022-2029, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Jan 2023

For comparison's sake, I tasted the 2018 Belondrade y Lurton next to the new 2018 Les Parcelles to see the differences and the evolution in bottle. The wine seems to be evolving a little faster than I anticipated (or maybe it was the bottle...). It shows a little honeyed and is fully open and reveals notes of tangerine peel and white flowers. The palate is velvety and tender, with a soft texture, caressing, elegant and subtle.

The 2018 Belondrade y Lurton is finely tempered, showing notes of oxidized apple, toffee, crème anglaise and baked crumble, with a hint of laurel and soft oak. Creamy and expansive, it offers enveloping texture and richness yet remains balanced and flavorful. This vintage is longer than others and more open-knit, shaped by a balanced growing season. Fresh and elegant, the 2018 is evolving beautifully.
