The 2019 Mâcon-Vergisson Sur La Roche is certainly rich and powerful on the nose with clear honey, hints of pineapple and red apples, counterbalanced by crushed rock, subtle fumé scents. The 320-metre altitude and northeast orientation of the vines imparts necessary freshness that also comes through on the palate. It has a viscous texture yet the acidity keeps it poised with lovely passion fruit and nectarine notes on the finish. Lovely.
