Score 91/100 · Drink 2023-2038, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2023

The 2018 Muscat Goldert is precise, clear and fresh as well as concentrated and phenolic on the aromatic, fruity but also stony nose. From vines averaging 31 years of age on limestone, this is a light and round, savory and grippy Muscat (90% Muscat d’Alsace, 10% Ottonel) with good structure and a stimulating finish. Bottled in January 2020 with 12.8% alcohol and a natural cork. Tasted in January 2023.

The 2018 Muscat Goldert is exotic and beautifully perfumed, not as generous on the palate as the aromatics suggest. Jasmine, lime, mint and petrol emerge with a bit of coaxing. This is an especial dry, bracing style.
