The 2019 Vougeot Le Clos de Prieuré Blanc 1er Cru comes from the 0.83-hectare monopole . Fresh apple blossom and wet limestone scents on the nose are flanked by white flowers. The palate is well defined with a fine bead of acidity. This is a slightly more linear and refined Clos de Prieuré Blanc than previous years, revealing a subtle spiciness on the finish. Very fine.

Subtle but easily perceptible wood can be found on the pungent aromas of petrol and matchstick character. The succulent and round but decidedly punchy flavors exude a bracing salinity on the linear, chiseled and solidly persistent finish that is presently somewhat youthfully austere. This is potentially excellent and a wine that will need at least a few years of patience so the finish can further flesh out. 90-93
