Tasted from bottle, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet Village unwinds in the glass with aromas of citrus oil, fresh pastry, white flowers and green apple, complemented by a hint of youthful struck match. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy but reserved, it's bright and chalky, with an ample core underpinned by a tangy spine of acidity.

The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet, which comes from the lieu-dit of "Pot Bois" from vines planted half a century ago, has quite an open bouquet of lemon curd and quite strong undergrowth aromas; a light menthol note emerges with time. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. This feels very harmonious, offering superb mineralité and a nuanced, saline finish with walnut and hazelnut notes on the aftertaste. Pure class.
