Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2022-2030, Neal Martin, Dec 2020

The 2019 Pommard Les Petits Noizons contains 10% whole bunch this year. It has an attractive nose of crisp red berry fruit and potpourri scents that would benefit from a little more precision. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, and quite fleshy for a Pommard, revealing a touch of black pepper on the elegant finish. A thoroughly enjoyable Pommard, probably more for early consumption.

Slightly riper aromas are comprised by aromas of poached plum, dark currant, violet and a whiff of game. There is much better volume and mid-palate density to the mineral-driven and focused flavors that display fine length on the firm, moderately austere and slightly rustic finale. This is a classically styled Pommard villages and worth checking out. 89-91
