The 2019 Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling Spätlese intermixes the purity of crushed slate with fully ripe and healthy Riesling aromas on the nose. Round, lush and generous but piquant and even concentrated on the textured and juicy palate, this Ellergrub reveals lovely grapefruit flavors on the fresh, nicely bitter and stimulatingly salty finish. This wine is another excellent Spätlese from this address, representing the fruit from 100-year-old ungrafted vines. This should be excellent with green curries! Tasted in May 2020.

AP number 05 20. TA 9 g/l, RS 84 g/l. Modest nose. Very generous, opulent array of flavours that really does taste like a bouquet of flowers. Absolutely charming. Rather forward. And pretty sweet. (JR)
