Tasting notes
Score 94/100 · Drink 2023-2039, Erin Larkin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2023

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is brooding and savory, with layers of star anise and licorice. There's a sensation in the mouth, like breathing in hot, sun-drenched dirt/dust while walking in a vineyard. It's evocative and good, brooding, dense and concentrated, the expressive rendition of a hot, low-yielding vintage such as 2019. A vibratory core of pure black and purple fruit does its duty and invites a second sip. Very good.

Aromas of iodine and smoked blueberries, as well as intense blue-plum and gently leafy tones. Strongly Barossa, in terms of a riper expression of cabernet. The palate is richly fleshy and carries a wealth of blue-fruit flavors. Soft, pliable tannins. Drink or hold.
