The 2020 Château Fourcas Hosten is a pretty, elegant 2020 offering complex red fruits, spice, and floral aromatics, medium body, and a good finish with firmer tannins.

The 2020 Fourcas Hosten just needs a little more delineation and focus on the nose, here outplayed by the Fourcas Dupré. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins. Drier than expected, with some wood tannins that dominate the finish. This is a bit tough at the moment.

The 2020 Fourcas Hosten offers up a bouquet of dried herbs, crushed flowers, black cherry and cedar. I like the aromatics quite a bit, I just wish there was a hint more mid-palate sweetness, as the 2020 comes across as compact and a touch angular. Even so, there is plenty to like.
