Score 89/100 · Drink 2021-2026, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2021

The 2018 Sancerre La Côte des Monts Damnés opens with a clear, deep and complex nose of bright fruits, herbs, flowers and reductive flint and iron aromas. Dense, round and textured on the palate, this is a full-bodied, fruit-intense and structured Sancerre with elegant power. From Kimmeridgian marls. Tasted in February 2021.

About the producer

Verre Glass of Wine
Henri Bourgeois

Although the family had long grown vines in Sancerre, it was in the 1950s that Henri Bourgeois started championing the wines of Chavignol. The property grew from two to 65 hectares, spread between Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, and is one of the standard-bearers for the region.
