The 2019 Clos De Vougeot Grand Cru got a big "Wow" in my notes and is one of the most complex, nuanced wines in the lineup. Exotic red and blue fruits, spice, cured meats, and orange blossom notes define the bulk of the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a layered, seamless mouthfeel, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's more approachable and open compared to the tighter, more structured 2018, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it evolve for just as long, given its balance. This is another gorgeous wine from Bernstein.

82-year-old vines in the middle towards Vosne. Cask sample. Super-intense nose – much more than most Clos de Vougeots. But some Vosne vigour in there. Dry finish for the moment. (JR)
