Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Oct 2021

The Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet is the powerhouse of the line-up. The full-bodied palate is rich and intense, but retains beautiful purity of fruit. The nose is full of white-fruit aromas with white peach and Mirabelle plum notes. Compared to the Criots or the Bâtard, the mid-palate is powerful but maintains excellent balance, sitting perfectly between freshness and richness. The acidity is everything in this wine, holding the structure and weight in check. The long, creamy finish brings an extra layer of complexity.

Cask sample. Some depth here on the nose but a bit sweet on the palate. Richness and body but not that much definition. Still youthful, to judge from the chewiness. There is weight but not that much character. (JR)
