Tasted blind. Light and lifted on the nose. Just very slightly sour but nicely transparent and fresh. Racy. Ready. I don’t apologise for rating this second wine above the grand vin on current showing. VGV (JR)

The second wine, the 2005 Segla, is everything it should be – soft, round and seductive, with easygoing tannin, a suave, savory, medium-bodied mouthfeel, and an attractive fragrance of red fruits, underbrush and spice. The velvety lushness makes for easy appreciation, and the wine is capable of lasting another 7-8 years.

Smooth and sophisticated. A bit bloody and dusty. Pants like a puppy rather than presenting itself for stroking. (JR)
