Tasting notes
A small new cuvée from Anne Morey—derived from a seven-ouvrée parcel—debuts with the 2019 Meursault Clos le Meix Tavaux, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive wine evocative of green apples, citrus oil, toasted bread and white flowers.

The 2019 Meursault Le Meix Tavaux is a debut release from a vineyard between Clos du Cromin and the road that heads toward Auxey-Duresses. It was bought by a society formed by Anne Morey and Antoine Jobard. "It is not a steep slope," Anne Morey told me, "but it drains well, the soil having a little more sand." It has a well-defined bouquet of orange pith, red apples, hazelnut and a touch of honeysuckle. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, harmonious and lightly spiced. This is a very promising debut and a welcome addition to the Morey range. Six-and-a-half barrels produced.
