Cask sample. Bright crimson. Solid and very dry on the end – no obvious sweetness here. But it should be a good long-term bet. (JR)

The 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes is structured and concentrated, bursting with aromas of dark berries, plums, rose petals and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, deep and lively, it's well worth seeking out, but it will require more patience than its 2019 predecessor.

The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Village has quite high-toned bouquet with fig-tinged black cherry fruit. The palate is sweet and candied, a little confit like, something almost Tuscan about the finish. Still, enjoyable, if not exactly Pinot-like, hence my parsimonious score.
