Tasted blind. Dark, purplish crimson. Some ripeness on the nose. Zesty energy. Quite vibrant! Hint of orange peel. Though slightly dry end. (JR)

The 2021 Lanessan has a clean nose, one that is missing some vigor and fruit concentration, but compensates with earthy, loamy aromas and tobacco. The palate is simple with a slightly bitter entry, quite saline yet it needs more substance—more flesh on the bones—toward the finish. Drink it over the next six to eight years.

The 2021 Lanessan has an attractive nose with pretty, floral black fruit with hints of cedar. The palate is well balanced and cohesive, good substance with a grippy finish. Not a complex Lanessan, but it has presence and old school charm.

Underbrush, tobacco leaf, peppery spice, red currants and crisp red plums form the core of the wine. Medium-bodied, bright, chewy and peppery, this is quite classic in style, with a nice sweetness to the bite in the red fruits found in the endnote.
