The 2021 Sénéjac has a light red berry and briar nose, retaining that element of blood orange that imparts a little complexity. It does need more vigor. The palate is better, with fine tannins and fresh acidity, quite vibrant with red cherries and redcurrant jus . Nicely structured on the finish, it has just the right amount of bitterness. This is a commendable Haut-Médoc for the vintage.

The 2021 Senejac is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon (more than usual), 27% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cabernet Franc, harvested from 24 September to 7 October with a yield of 29 hl/ha. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it features notes of red and black plums, tar, and fallen leaves with a hint of dried herbs. Light-bodied, clean, and refreshing, it has a light chew of tannins and a straightforward finish.

Medium-bodied, fresh, forward and fruity, with a light, red berry palate presence along with an earthy, savory touch in the red berry finish that will be best enjoyed in its youth.

The 2021 Sénéjac was picked from September 24 to October 7 at 29hL/ha and raised in 30% new oak. The perfumed nose features potpourri-tinged red fruit, red cherries and blood orange, nicely focused but not intense. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh, with grainy tannins, modest depth and just a slight attenuation toward the finish. Enjoy over the next 12–15 years. (12.8% alcohol)
