Tank sample. Dark crimson with some real intensity and structure. Dry, promising finish and some rather magnificent fruit plus a neat finish. (JR)

The 2020 Beaune Clos du Roi 1er Cru is 50% whole bunch with 20% new oak. It has impressive clarity on the nose with bilberry and raspberry fruit, fine delineation and poise. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle tannins, the whole bunch lending a discrete black pepper note on the finish. Very fine and quite stately in style.
