The 2016 Romas Grenache features a backdrop of dark, brooding plums and blackberries overlaid with an attractive filigree of lavender, bay leaf and rose petals. It turns brighter and more red-fruited on the full-bodied palate, expanding into a rich, velvety wine with notes of dark chocolate and café au lait on the lingering finish.

More violets, orange blossom, spice, and assorted blue fruits emerge from the 2016 Grenache Romas Vineyard, a slightly lifted, perfumed Grenache with a beautifully elegant, seamless texture. Rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, it has a lively, elegant texture, loads of chocolaty fruit, a good spine of acidity, and a great finish. It needs air to show at its best and is going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise for a decade.
