The 2020 Riesling Krettnacher Euchariusberg Kabinett A.P. #12 once again issues from vines in the Gross Schock sector on a parcel whose nickname, Kugel Peter, now appears in tiny print on the label. White currant and Meyer lemon make for pungently penetrating aromatics and a bright, zesty impression on the wine’s polished, delicate palate. Struck flint, sea breeze and wet stone add a haunting and intriguing mineral aura. The finish is ravishingly sustained, and there is not the least sense of extraneous sweetness from the wine’s 40 grams of residual sugar.
