Score 90/100 · Drink 2023-2030, Neal Martin, Jan 2023

The 2020 Beaune Les Prévolles, ordered from a restaurant list (I hope to visit at some point in the future), has a bright nose with ebullient red fruit, making good use of whole stems. The palate is well balanced with a pleasing piquancy, commendable acidity given the growing season with a surfeit of freshness towards a slightly Pommard-like finish. This should drink well for several years, possibly more.

The lovely 2020 Beaune Les Prévolles wafts from the glass with aromas of sweet red berries, warm spices and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, ample and perfumed, with bright acids, fine tannins and a fragrant finish, it's one of the most elegant wines in the range.
