The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru (Marquis de Laguiche) has a vibrant bouquet, orange pith mixed with grapefruit and light waxy scents, again, detailed and focused, demonstrating assiduous use of oak (although it does become more prominent with aeration). The palate is well-balanced with a pleasant rondeur on the entry, smooth and more honeyed than its peers, suggesting a slightly later picking. Yet it works well as a whole, and if you seek a richer style of Chassagne, then this is just the ticket. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

A super-elegant Chassagne-Montrachet that offers all you want from this appellation, the balance of ripe-lemon character and flinty minerality spot-on. Super-silky and very graceful on the medium-to full-bodied palate. Then the finish doesn\'t want to stop. Drink or hold.
