Score 94/100 · Drink 2029-2062, Neal Martin, Dec 2023

The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru takes a little time to open in the glass, eventually offering tangerine, wet limestone, blackcurrant leaf and background touches of fennel. The palate is medium-bodied, viscous, very concentrated and you could say almost thickly-textured vis-à-vis its peers. Burly and extravagant, this offers intense, slightly tropical fruit, commingling with stem ginger and lemongrass on the finish. Impressive, if not best-in-class. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
