Destemmed, 30% new oak. A blend of Les Jacquines and Aux Ravioles from the Nuits side, and Haut Mazières and Bas Mazières in the heart of Vosne. Barrel sample. Quite a deep crimson. Good energy and some oak integration already. Really classic Vosne with bitter-cherry juice and real focus. These vines must be in a propitious spot? But pretty advanced. The sort of wine you could drink tonight! (JR)

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village, which is completely destemmed with 30% new oak, has one of the best aromatics among Marchand Tawse’s Village Crus, presenting a well-defined bouquet of black cherries and light blueberry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins on the entry, good grip and depth and impressive delineation on the finish. This is excellent for its class.
