Scents of cherries, Indian spices, sweet berry fruit and loamy soil introduce the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes, a medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated wine that's lively and vibrant, with a fleshy core of fruit and powdery structuring tannins. This derives from a quarter-hectare parcel of vines planted in the 1980s.

The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru was due to be racked the following week. The expressive bouquet features a crushed-violet-infused mélange of red and blue fruit, very Vosne-like in style. The palate is thickly textured with firm grip, fresh and vibrant. The slightly muscular finish suggests this will give 15–20 years of drinking pleasure. Superb.
