The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Coucherais is also very charming, mingling aromas of red berries and plums with nuances of peony, rose petals, orange oil and cinnamon in an expressive bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with melting tannins, lively acids and a saline finish, it will offer a broad drinking window.

The 2020 Beaune Coucherias 1er Cru contains 60% whole cluster with up to 35-40% new oak. Now, this has more delineation and purity compared to the Beaune Marconnets, black plum and just a touch of raspberry and iris petal. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, very smooth, maybe the new oak just a little vocal on the finish though that will be subsumed with time. Fine.
